PURPOSE:To obtain the same painting finish degree as a metal part, by setting the painting substrate of a heat resistant plastic part to a metal flame spraying film and forming a paint film to said film by electrodeposition painting. CONSTITUTION:For example, in painting a car body 1, the car body 1 consists of a car body panel 1a and the rear trunk cover 3 made of a heat resistant plastic material combined with the trunk room of said car body 1 through a metal hinge 2 prior to painting. The rear trunk cover 3 is pretreated at first before being combined with the car body panel 1a and, subsequently, a metal flame spraying film 3b having almost the same conductivity as the car body panel 1a is formed to said trunk cover 3. As the metal in flame spraying, zinc or aluminum is used and the temp. of the molten metal on a painting surface is set to the thermal deformation temp. of the plastic material or less. After the flame spraying film is formed, the trunk cover is built into the car body panel 1a and, when the whole is subjected to electrodeposition painting, uniform painting finish feeling is obtained.
