PURPOSE:To generate uniform torque over the whole speed range by providing a long and a short intake pipe branching from an intake distribution chamber, and controlling the bypass valve which opens and closes said short intake pipe to a fully opened, a totally closed and a middle opened positions in its opening. CONSTITUTION:The lower part 31 of an intake manifold 8 is provided with a distribution chamber 37. A long intake pipe passing along a low speed passage 36 and a short intake pipe passing along a high speed passage 35 branch from said chamber 37. The inlet of said passage 35 is provided with a bypass valve 47 which is controlled to a fully opened, a totally closed and a middle opened positions in its opening. A low torque range occuring between a low and a high speed range can be therefore checked to generate uniform torque over the whole speed range.
