PURPOSE:To make it possible to move a sheet loading table to a feeding roller at a low torque, by holding one end of the sheet loading table and lifting up and down the other end by a motor, in a sheet feeding device of a copying machine or the like. CONSTITUTION:A loading table 3 is moved up and down at the fulcrum of a shaft 31 by the rotation of a wire 12 with a spring 12a through a warm 6, a warm wheel 7 and a driving pulley 9 driven by a motor 5, and when sheet materials are loaded, it goes down to the position of a lower position detecting sensor 18. Then, the loading table 3 loaded with the sheet materials S is lifted by the motor 5 until the upper surface of the sheet materials S contacts a feeding roller 14, and when a position detecting sensor 17 detects that, the loading table 3 stops, the sheet materials are delivered between a delivery belt 15 and a separator roller 16 sheet by sheet, by the rotation of the feeding roller 14, and as the sheet materials are reduced, the sheet loading table 3 is lifted gradually. In such a way, the movement of the loading table can be made at a low torque, and moreover, the composition of the device can be simplified.
