PURPOSE:To obtain the titled glaze composition which is excellent in weathering resistance, chemical resistance and luster or the like and has thermal expansion coefficient excellent in compatibility with a cement by constituting a frit contg. SiO2, Al2O3, B2O3, alkali (earth) metallic oxide and ZrO2, etc., at the specified molar ratio. CONSTITUTION:A frit having composition of a molar ratio consisting of 50-65% SiO2, 0-7% Al2O3, 18-26% B2O3, 3-15% MO (M is Ca, Mg, Zn, Ba and Sr), 6-12% R2O (R is Li, Na and K) and 0-10% ZrO2 is prepared. This frit is used as glaze composition for grazing and calcining it on the surface of a molded material of the cement. Thereby since the content of SiO2 and Al2O3 is adjusted to proper amount, the frit can be baked at 650-900 deg.C wherein the cement product shows the largest mechanical strength. This glaze composition is preferably used for glazing of a clay tile and exterior plate for a building or the like.
