PURPOSE:To simplify the fixing structure and to prevent deformation of a slit disc, by arranging the slit disc being held between two collars between a light emission element and a photoreceptor inserted into a housing. CONSTITUTION:A distribution rotor 5 is mounted at the tip of a shaft 3 so as to constitute an ignition distributor for sequentially distributing a high voltage to a center carbon 11 through rotation of said rotor 5. A slit disc 31 is held and secured between a first collar 32 secured to the shaft 3 of the ignition distributor and a second collar 33 fitted to the shaft 3. Then an optical sensor 4 is inserted through a window 21 made through the sidewall of housing 2 and secured thereto such that the slit disc 31 is arranged between a light emission element 41 and a photoreceptor 42. Consequently, the fixing structure is simplified, deformation of the slit disc 31 is prevented and assembling work is automated.
