PURPOSE:To easily form a film by successively applying a paint having a curing reaction mechanism different from a base paint and a clear paint having the curing reaction mechanism equal thereto by a wet-on-wet method on a base paint as a matte treating part and baking these paints. CONSTITUTION:A chemical conversion film 2, an undercoat 3 and an intercoat 4 are successively formed on the body 1 of an automobile, and after baking and drying the intercoat 4, a baking-type metallic-base paint having a finish color is firstly applied on all surfaces of the body 1 to form a film 5. Then a paint having a curing reaction mechanism different from metallic-base paint is applied by wet-on-wet coating i.e. on a side sealing part 1a to be performed with matte treatment, and thereby a film 6 is formed. Thereafter a film 7 is formed on all parts of the body 1 with a clear paint having the curing reaction mechanism equal to the metallic-base paint, and it is baked and dried, matte effect is easily shown by shrinkage phenomena of the film in a boundary part different in the curing reaction mechanism.
