PURPOSE:To shorten a time for contacting a magnetic head with a disk plate and to prevent a head clash from being produced by providing an air pump for varying and adjusting an internal pressure in a closed container. CONSTITUTION:In the closed container 1, a spindle motor 2, the disk plate 3, the magnetic head 4 and an actuator 5 or the like are provided. In such a structure, the air pump 6 for communicating the inner part of the closed container 6 with the outer part is disposed. The air pump is constituted of a pump art 7, an air pump driving circuit and an air filter 8 for preventing dust or rubbish from entering the inner part of the closed container 1 and at the time of activating the spindle motor 2, the air pump is operated to raise the pressure in the closed container 1. Thereby, at the time of CSS (Contact Start Stop), the head is floated more rapidly than ordinary air pressure, the contact travelling time is shortened and a probability for generating the head clash is lowered.
