PURPOSE:To prepare a ceramic filter of good quality by removing foams generated when casting a fluid substance, nonflammable and of set up characteristics, into a flammable porous material. CONSTITUTION:For manufacturing a ceramic filter by burning off a flammable porous material, after a fluid substance, inflammable and of set up characteristics, is cast and set up, the fluid substance is put in a pressure reducing device before the same is set up, and pressure reduced in a state that the surrounding pressure is within the range of vapor pressure of said fluid substance or more. Then, the floating power of foams drawn into said fluid substance, even if very small foams, is increased, and almost all of the foams can by removed. As a result, a high-quality porous ceramic with even sizes of pores is prepared. Since said porous ceramic is of even sizes of pores, heat resistance and the like, the same can be utilized as a filter for intense heat.
