PURPOSE:To improve powder fluidity, to keep a good working atmosphere, to improve working efficiency and the stabilize quality, by blending a phenolic resin with calcium carbonate having a treated surface. CONSTITUTION:A resin compsn. is obtd. by blending a phenolic resin with calcium carbonate having a treated surface. Calcium carbonate having a treated surface, which is used for improving the powder fluidity of the phenolic resin, can be obtd. by treating the surface of fine calcium carbonate particle with a resin acid or a resin acid-based surface treating agent, a fatty acid or a fatty acid-based surface treating agent, a surfactant, lignin, a polyacrylic acid surface treating agent, a paraffin surface treating agent, a silicon compd., etc. The compsn. is useful in the fields of building materials such as resin felt material, feeding head insulating material, fiber board, etc., refractories such as inorg. fibrous insulating material, abrasive material, blast furnace blocking material, industrial resin binder for mold, molding material, etc.
