PURPOSE:To enable the stevedoring of a plurality of articles to be done simultaneously by providing a stacker crane which is capable of moving both ways in parallel with storage racks and is provided in a row with a plurality of article-removing-loading racks. CONSTITUTION:A depositing station 2 is equipped with an elevator 8a which consists of a plurality of rollers that are rotated by the drive force of a drive device and a belt that is moved vertically by the rotation of these rollers and vertical carrying racks 11A fitted at regular intervals to this belt. A drawing station 3 is, like the depositing station 2, equipped with an elevator 8B having as many vertical carrying racks 11B which go up and down vertically as vertical carrying racks 11A. A stacker crane 5 is arranged at a space between the depositing and drawing stations 2, 3 and is supported by rails installed respectively in the upper part of the top surface and in the lower part of the bottom surface in parallel with the depositing station 2 and travels both ways along the rails by means of a travel device provided at the bottom surface.
