PURPOSE:To perform the visually sharp display of a residual distance with respect to a total distance, by calculating the relation of the present position to the total distance from the present position on a display picture calculated from the positions of the starting point and destination as well as the present position indicated on the display picture. CONSTITUTION:The map data stored in the disk D read by a disk drive apparatus 1 are subjected to data processing such as digital demodulation or the detection/correction of an error by a data processor 2 to be stored in a data memory 3. The image data showing a road system among said data is displayed on the picture of CRT 8 through an image processing circuit 4, an image memory 5 an OR gate 6 and a display memory 7. On the basis of the coordinates data of the start and terminal points indicated on the basis of said map data and inputted to a start point/terminal point input circuit 9 and the present position detected by a present position detecting circuit 12, the residual quantity ratio to a total distance is calculated by a residual quantity ratio calculation circuit 14 to be stored in a residual quantity ratio memory 15 and subsequently displayed on the picture of CRT 8 along with the map data through the gate 6 and the memory 7. |
