PURPOSE:To prevent a caller from being kept awaited for a long time due to the absence of an extension subscriber by transferring a call to a registered subscriber if a time or number of times till the reply to a call signal exceeds a preset value. CONSTITUTION:If an extension subscriber 1A does not reply a call signal based on a direct inward dialing (DID) incoming signal and a consecutive time or number of times for sending a call signal exceeds a preset value, an excess signal is sent from a counter 7 to a central controller 6. The controller 6 reads out an extension number of an extension subscriber 1B being a transfer destination registered in advance by a storage device 8 to stop the sending of a call signal to the subscriber 1A and to start sending of the call signal to the subscriber 1B of the transfer destination. When the subscriber 1B replies, a DID office trunk 4 and an extension subscriber circuit 2B are connected via a channel switch 3 and the subscriber 1B replies the call. Thus, the caller is not kept waited long unnecessarily or the necessity of the redialing is avoided.
