PURPOSE:To produce disklike particles adjusted so that they may have a specified particle form and having a larger particle surface area than that of conventional spherical particles, comprising a natural polymeric substance, a synthetic polymeric substance, an inorganic compound or a mixture thereof. CONSTITUTION:The disklike particles are formed of a natural polymeric substance, a synthetic polymeric substance, an inorganic compound or a mixture of at least two of them. This particles have a diameter of 20-2,000mum and a thickness to diameter ratio of 1/2-1/50, and the diameters of at least 80% of the particles fall in the range of 1/2-2 times the number-average diameter. These disklike particles can be obtained by the following process. Namely, a solution of a viscosity of 20-2,000cP, containing said mixture of materials, in injected in the form of uniform droplets with charges of the same sign into a gas phase at a predetermined flow rate from an opening while a particular periodic disturbance is applied thereto and is adhered to a flat surface before these droplets are coagulated. The adhering droplets are solidified by drying or contact with a coagulant. |
