PURPOSE:To input a person's name through a ten-key in a key telephone set and to call an extention by providing a main device with a memory circuit previously storing a telephone number and the person's name corresponding to the telephone number. CONSTITUTION:After a HOLD key 22 and a DSS 1 key 23 in the key telephone set 2 are set in a registration mode, the person's name is inputted by Roman letters by converting numerics into alphabets, and an extention number is further inputted. Then they are registered in the memory part 12 through the I/O interface 13 and the switch circuit 14 of the main device 1. For making a call, a handset 24 is hooked off to depress the HOLD key 22, after which the name of the opposite party is inputted through the ten-key 21. A control part 11 retrieves data on the name out of the memory part 12 through the input interface 13 and the switch circuit 14 from the key telephone system 2 to which the name is inputted, controls the switch circuit 14 by the extention number corresponding to the name, and connects a key telephone system 2 corresponding to the name and the key telephone system 2 (a calling side) to which the name is inputted.
