The subject of the invention is a method for shaping an "aerosol"-type dispenser casing 1 made from a single piece of aluminium or alloy and coated. The casing 1 is inserted by its bottom into a swaging die, it is ejected from this die, then, after the casing 1 has been turned over (round), it is pushed through a die 23 for profiling its cylindrical outer surface, the opened-out length of the internal contour of this die 23 in cross-section lying between 0.85 and 1.1 times the perimeter of the surface 22 to be shaped and any point on this internal contour being at a distance from the centre of the corresponding cross-section lying between 0.45 and 0.55 times the diameter of this surface. The invention applies to the manufacture of dispenser casings having varied appearances and improved gripping. <IMAGE>
