PURPOSE:To quantitatively measure or analyze a trace substance present in a sample, particularly blood serum or urine, by subjecting an analytical object substance to enzymic cycling reaction in the presence of enzymes, increasing the substance to a detectable variation and measuring the resultant variation. CONSTITUTION:An oxidizing enzyme (or pyridine enzyme) is reacted with an analytical object substance and substrate to produce the corresponding product and final analytical substance. Pyridine enzyme (or oxidizing enzyme) is then reacted with the product corresponding to substrate and analytical object substance to convert the product into the final analytical substance and original analytical object substance. The resultant produced final analytical substance is measured. For example, use of L-alpha-glycerophosphate oxidase and glycerol-3- phosphate dehydrogenase in measurement of glycerol-3-phosphate or dihydroxyacetone phosphate and use of alcohol oxidase and alcohol dehydrogenase in measurement of ethanol, acetaldehyde, pyruvic acid, etc., are cited. |
