PURPOSE:To lengthen the life of a belt, by providing vertical grooves plurally on both side-faces, in close contact with a pulley, of the belt and allowing them to have block-shaped side-faces. CONSTITUTION:Both side-faces, in close contact with a pulley 2, of a belt 1 are provided with a plural number of vertical grooves 3 penetrating from the top side face to the bottom side face, and both side-faces of the belt 1 are formed to be independent blocks so as to form block-shaped side-faces 4. The block-shaped side-faces 4 have a contact pressure, independently from each other, with each block having a tendency to be hardly affected by other blocks and being capable of making close contact-with the pulley 2 independently and strongly. Thus, the life of the belt can be lengthened.
