PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound, an intermediate of agricultural chemicals without forming by-product in high yield, by reacting dichlorobenzenes with an acid chloride and anhydrous aluminum chloride without using any solvent, dissolving the resultant complex liquid in a specific solvent and then decomposing the complex solution. CONSTITUTION:Dichlorobenzenes are subjected to Friedel-Crafts reaction with an acid chloride and anhydrous aluminum chloride without using any solvent. After the reaction, the reaction liquid containing the resultant complex is dissolved in a halogenated hydrocarbon solvent. The solvent is preferably added while cooling the reaction liquid after aging to dissolve the liquid. Then the complex in the solution is decomposed at 0-60 deg.C by dropping the solution into water to provide a compound expressed by the formula (R is 1-3C alkyl ore chloroalkyl). Coloring of the aimed compound expressed by the formula can be inhibited by washing the organic layer after decomposing the complex with water. |
