The invention aims to allow the use of cardboard tubular elements in order to form moulds having a constant non-circular cross-section. The walls of the cardboard tubular moulding element 11 are supported by cylindrical cardboard tubes 13, 14 arranged longitudinally, in order to prevent the walls from deforming under the thrust from the material to be cast. These tubes can be supported by various means, particularly by an external cardboard tube 12. Similar support means are provided inside a cardboard tube of polygonal cross-section in order to cast a pocket or to form a hollow cardboard body. The invention can be used for casting concrete using formwork or for casting any other material which hardens within its mass. <IMAGE>
