The subject of the invention is a motor with magnets including at least one moving part placed between two fixed parts, the said moving part comprising a plurality of pads made of a magnetic material in contact with magnets, each pad being in contact with two magnets arranged alternately in such a way that the fluxes which they create converge towards the pad or diverge from the aforesaid pad, one pitch having a length equal to the sum of the thicknesses of two pads and of two magnets, each fixed part including pads of a magnetic material which are separated by a distance equal or close to one pitch, the pads of one part being arranged in quincunx layout with respect to those of the other part, the fixed parts being associated with an n-phase coil holder, this motor being characterised in that the width MN, PQ of the ends of the rotor pad b1 which are opposite the stator pads is larger than the width of its central part.
