NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I {Y is group shown by formula II [B is phenyl (replaced with alkyl, carboxyl, etc.), heterocyclic-alkyl, etc.], -CidenticalC-D (D is alkyl or alkylcarbonyl), group shown by formula III (X is halogen), group shown by formula IV [E is alkyl (replaced with OH, etc.) or carboxyl- replaced phenyl], etc.; R1-R5 are H, OH, (OH-substituted)<=3 aliphatic hydrocarbon residue consisting of single or double bond, etc.} and a salt thereof. EXAMPLE:Caffeic acid p-n-butylanilide. USE:A drug such as remedy and preventive for allergic disease, asthma, inflammation, etc., having excellent inhibitory action on leukotriene and 5-lipoxygenase. PREPARATION:A compound shown by formula V or a reactive derivative thereof is reacted with a compound shown by formula VI in an inert organic solvent under anhydrous condition, in the presence of a condensation agent when the compound shown by formula V is a carboxylic acid, to give a compound shown by formula I wherein Y is group shown by formula II.
