One of the embodiments of the invention, described in the main patent, consists of a vertical drum whose pockets each receive an independent loader containing a separate succession of slides. This drum is actuated by a motor which is independent of that of the slide holder. A first certificate of addition has provided a variant with horizontal drum. This second certificate of addition offers a new operating cycle for this device: in the 1st phase (return), the slide holder is propelled by a spring, which will be reset in the 3rd phase. This results in great simplicity with regard to the wiring for coordinating the two motors. This type of magazine can be perfectly adapted to conventional optical lanterns. <IMAGE>
