PURPOSE:To improve the deodorizing effect by arranging a timer in an electric current circuit of a motor during lowering the wick and stopping the rotation of the motor for a certain time by the timer halfway to the position where the wick stops. CONSTITUTION:A timer 5 is mounted on the electric current circuit of a motor 1 and a change-over switch 6 is also mounted which is connected to the circuit directly at the high wick position without the timer 5 in between. The motor 1 rotates to lower the wick. Next if the change-over switch 6 is changed over to the side of the timer 5 by a cam 8, the motor 1 stops its rotation and the wick stops in a halfway position. On the other hand electric current flows through the timer 5 after a certain time to energize the motor 1 so that the motor rotates again to lower the wick, and a low position switch 13 is changed over to stop the motor 1 at the wick-lowering position. And, at the height of the wick during the temporary stop, the vaporized gas can burn and it does not develop bad odor. The vaporized petroleum is not thermally decomposed because the temperature of the combustion section is low, so that no bad odor is generated.
