PURPOSE:To obtain a multiplexer circuit for multiplexing plural information signals rapidly time-dividedly by using optical short pulse generating sources and photodetector switches to be rapidly answered. CONSTITUTION:The multiplexer circuit is provided with a signal multiplexing part 4 obtained by parallel-connecting n (positive integer) unit circuits nX(1-3) each of which has information signal sources 6a-8a and photodetector switches (photodiodes 6b-8b) connected to the signal sources 6a-8a in series and short pulse light sources (optical short pulse generators 6c-8c) for successively generating optical short pulse to be made incident upon the n photodetector switches to turn on and off these switches successively. The pulse width of the optical short pulses is set up to 1/n the generating period of the signal sources 6a-8a. When n switching elements are connected in parallel and the delay time of the input optical short pulses is properly set up, signals outputted from the n information signal sources 6a-8a connected in series to respective switching photodetector elements can be time-dividedly multiplexed.
