PURPOSE:To enable a subscriber to listen a message recorded on his telephone set from another telephone set during his absence by adding a line control function to a home monitor having an automatic recording function so that the message recorded during his absence can be received by connecting a telephone line. CONSTITUTION:When the telephone set is set up to an OUT mode during his absence, a home monitor part 1 executes its monitoring function in the OUT mode and an interphone part 2 stops its interphone function between respective interphones. When a visitor depresses a call button on the interphone part 2, the home monitor part 1 drives a sound processing part 3, sends a previously recorded message to the visitor through the interphone part 2 and then recordes a visitor-s message in the sound processing part 3. The home monitor part 1 is connected to the telephone line 4 and provided with a terminating function. Thus, the message recorded in the sound processing part 3 can be confirmed from the outside by calling the home monitor from the outside.
