PURPOSE:To prevent an optical fiber core from damaging and to improve the reliability by positioning the flange part at the rear part of an optical connector ferrule outside an adapter. CONSTITUTION:The flange part 32 that a pressure member 4 is pressed against is provided to the optical connector ferrule 3. This flange part 32 is positioned outside the adapter 1 to attach and detach the adapter 1 and ferrule 3 by gripping the flange part 32. Consequently, the optical fiber core A never damages and is improved in reliability, and the member 4 presses the flange part 32, so the influence of the sticking and swelling of an adhesive at the rear end part of the ferrule upon the designing of a pressure spring is eliminated.
