The invention relates to a device for converting a stroke movement into a rotary movement. The device has a cylinder (1) which is closed with caps (2) at both ends and is provided with pressure-medium connections (3) in its two end areas. A piston is displaceably arranged in the area between the pressure-medium connections (3). The piston is coupled via an external thread (9) to an internal thread (10) of the cylinder (1) and has an output shaft (8) which is led to the outside and is connected to the piston in a positive-locking manner. In order to improve a device of the aforesaid type to the effect that any desired angle of rotation can be realised in a simple manner, it is proposed according to the invention that the piston consist of two parts (4, 5) which are releasably connected to one another by an intermediate member (6). The intermediate member (6) has the form of a rope drum. The one piston part (4) which is provided with the external thread (9) has at least one passage (11) for the pressure medium. <IMAGE>
