To produce dental prostheses there is a need for an inert metal cap whose interior is to form an accurate image of the tooth stump. In order to be able to produce a cap of this type by electroplating, a positive mould is required and has hitherto been produced from low-melting metal. In order to avoid the use of a low-melting metal, which is difficult to handle and requires very elaborate apparatus, and to achieve great accuracy of reproduction, the invention proposes the use of a mixture of dental plaster with metal powder to produce the positive mould.
