PURPOSE:To analyze a trace org. acid with high sensitivity by passing a liquid to be measured at a specified rate to a concentrating column in which an anion exchange resin is packed and concentrating the liquid. CONSTITUTION:A pump 2c is driven to pass the liquid to be measured in a storage tank 1c at the specified flow rate to a waste liquid tank 1f through the pump 2c 4th and 3rd connecting ports 4d, 4c of a 2nd selector valve 4 concentrating column 4g 6th and 5th connecting ports 4f, 4e of the valve 4 so that the org. acid in the liquid to be measured is concentrated and held in the column 4g packed with the anion exchange resin. The inside flow passage is changed over from the connecting state of a solid line to the connecting state of a broken line when the valve 4 is turned on in this state. The org. acid, etc., concentrated and held in the column 4g are then conveyed to an eluate. Said eluate flows through a precolumn 5 to a sepn. column 6 where the org. acid, etc., in the liquid to be measured are chromatographically separated by an ion expulsion mode. The eluate from the column 6 flows through an inside chamber 7b of a suppressor 7 to a detector 8 in which the electrical conductivity thereof is measured. Since the org. acid in the liquid to be measured can be thoroughly concentrated in the concentrating column, even the trace org. acid is analysed with high accuracy.
