PURPOSE:To make it possible to chamfer the opening edges of several small holes formed in a workpiece with a high degree of efficiency and a high degree of accuracy, by pressing a part to be chamfered of the workpiece against a flexible resilient member attached thereto with abrasive particles while it is moved relatively. CONSTITUTION: A workpiece 2 (made of, for example, difficulty grinding material such ceramic or the like) is clamped between resilient members 26, 27 under a constant pressure. In this condition, first and second drive sources 12, 21, 25 are driven while working liquid is fed to the workpiece 2 from a liquid supply section 3a to rotate the resilient members 26, 27 in the direction of the arrow 20 and to rotate a carrier plate 10 in the direction of the arrow 9 through a sun gear 7 so that the workpiece 2 held on the carrier plate 10 is planetarily moved. As a result, innumerable abrasive particles dispersed and held in the resilient members 26, 27 chamfer the opening edges of several small holes formed in the workpiece 2 with a high degree of efficiency and a high degree of accuracy. |
