PURPOSE:To reduce the electric power consumed by a driving circuit by constituting a gas electric-discharge panel by arranging a plural number of unit cells each having a resistance of over 50kOMEGA and a capacity of between 0.05PF and 50PF. CONSTITUTION:A gas electric-discharge panel is constituted by arranging a plural number of unit cells. Each unit cell is made by providing an electric discharge space 34 between an A electrode 31 and a D electrode 33 which is connected to a B electrode 32 through a resistance 35 of over 50kOMEGA, forming a capacity 36 of between 0.05PF and 50PF between a D electrode 33 and an E electrode 37 and connecting the electrodes A, B and E to a d.c. power source. By thus providing each unit cell with a resistance (R) and a capacity (C), a current flowing in the electric discharge space 34 can be automatically formed into a pulse-like current to realize a narrow pulse width. As a result, the size of the gas electric-discharge panel can be reduced by making unnecessary electric power which might be uselessly consumed by an external driving circuit. |
