Method for the production of steel rails with low residual stress by means of roller straightening
摘要
The hot rail coming from the rolling mill is cooled at an accelerated rate to temperatures below 100@C at the head and foot only, whereas the web is held at temperatures of 150 to 500@C, and is then passed immediately through a roller straightening machine. With the method according to the invention, it is possible to adjust the residual stress condition of the roller-straightened rails to very low values, relative to residual longitudinal tensile stress in the head and foot. The level of residual stress is reduced by more than 50% compared with rails roller-straightened in the conventional manner. <IMAGE>
