The invention relates to a shut-off device for gases or liquids, in which device the rotary motion required for adjustment is transmitted from outside into a fully enclosed housing with the aid of a permanent-magnet-type clutch, thereby avoiding the need for moving seals or bellows. A permanent-magnet-type clutch having a stepped split cup is proposed for particularly high pressures.
