<p>A ski pole has a handle (10) adapted to urge the shaft (12) forward during a pole plant. The handle has a finger element (18) attached to the pole and a palm element (20) pivotally connected to the top (24) of the finger element. A spring (22) biases the finger element away from the palm element. The handle may be equipped with a strap (14) that aids in transmission of downward force from a hand to the ski pole. This strap also is adjustable and provides for quick safety release. The ski pole may also be provided with a basket (16) that universally pivots on the bottom of the shaft.</p> |
