A device for the continuous production of a liquid mixture of solids and liquids has, to form a rotary flow, a rotationally symmetrical space with an approximately vertical axis of rotation. In order to create a simple but reliably operating mixing device, which delivers a predictable mixing result even if at times a very strong flow or considerably weaker flow is to be present, it is proposed to form the rotationally symmetrical space as an annular space (13) having an internal overflow edge (14) and to provide a funnel-shaped collection tank (18) beneath the overflow edge (14) and to provide, above the overflow edge (14), the discharge orifices of the metering devices (52, 53) for the substances to be mixed. The liquid mixture, at the outlet of the collection tank (18), is to pass optionally to a mixing vessel (28) or directly to a discharge pump (27). <IMAGE>
