In order to produce a compact erector apparatus, stationary plates are arranged approximately parallel to the skittle erection surface to form chambers. Cable pulleys are arranged in the core region of the plates, extend into the region of the formed chambers and are in each case connected to a cable. In one direction of rotation, provided by a drive, winding-up of the cable takes place to raise the fixed skittles, and in the other direction of rotation lowering and erection of the skittles takes place. Simultaneously, a free loop of cable is laid on each plate in the direction of rotation for erecting the skittles.
