PURPOSE:To take-in clear water as well as to prevent the inflow of soil by using a siphon cylinder and by fixing a swirl flow plate and a V-shaped slot wire screen to the intake port. CONSTITUTION:An intake structure 1 is constructed projectionally from the river bed, and intake ports 2 are opened in the upsides of both sides of the structure 1. A swirl flow plate 3 is hung down, an intake frame 5 having a V-shaped slot wire screen 4 on its inside is fixed, and a manhole 6 and an inspection port 7 are provided for the upside of the structure 1. A water suction tank 8 is provided for the inside upper stage of the intake port 2, a sand settling joint well 9 is formed on the lower stage, and a connecting tube 10 with a siphon cylinder 12 is connected to the upside. A sand pump 13 and a river water conveyance tube 14 are provided for one corner of the well 9. Thus, the water intake device which has less water resistance, can take in clear water, with facilitated daily controllability.
