PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a generator at the time of a low output without damaging electric blowers during stoppage and by operating the arbitrary number of the electric blowers by mounting automatic dampers opened and closed interlocked with operation to all the electric blowers. CONSTITUTION:A shutter 11 opened and closed interlocked with an electrio blower 3 is set up to a case 8 for the blower. Since the pressure of the inside of a generator case 4 is made sufficiently higher than that of a top nose 5, force in the closed direction is applied to the shutter 11 at all times by a spring, etc. Consequently, the shutter 11 for the electric blower under shutdown is brought to a closed state, and a back flow into the top nose 5 having low pressure through the electric blowers 3 from the inside of the generator case 4 having high pressure is not generated. The shutter 11 is opened against the resilient force of the spring by the blast pressure of the electric blower 3, and cooling air is forwarded into the generator case 4 from the inside of the top nose 5 and an armature winding 1 and a field winding 2 are cooled. That is, the number of the electric blowers being operated is changed over arbitrarily by the output from a generator.
