PURPOSE:To obtain a choke coil which has high flux density, small high frequency magnetic loss and non-linear inductance DC superposition characteristics by connecting a core with steady permeability and a core with high permeability magnetically in parallel. CONSTITUTION:A core 1 is composed of powder of magnetic alloy, which has steady permeability and high flux density, molded and sintered into an annular shape. A core 3 is composed of high permeability magnetic alloy wound into an annular shape like the core 1. These cores 1 and 3 are arranged to form parallel magnetic circuit and a common winding is applied to them to form a choke coil. While a load current is small, the coil shows the characteristics of high permeability magnetic alloy and has a high impedance. As the load current is increased, the part of the core 3 is saturated and inductance drops sharply. After that, the characteristics of the core composed of the sintered powder appear and the coil reaches final saturation. With this constitution, a choke coil which has non-linear inductance DC superposition characteristics can be obtained. |
