PURPOSE:To aim at miniaturization in an engine as securing a cooling effect on a central cylinder, by installing a cooling water passage between first and second cylinders of a three-cylinder bank on one side as well as installing another cooling water passage between second and third cylinders of a three- cylinder bank on the other. CONSTITUTION:A cooling water passage 2 is not installed between a first cylinder #1 and a second cylinder #2 of a three-cylinder bank on one side, but it is installed between the second cylinder #2 and a third cylinder #3 instead. Likewise, a cooling water passage is not installed between a second cylinder #2 and a third cylinder #3 of a three-cylinder bank on the other, but the cooling water passage 2 is installed between a first cylinder #1 and a second cylinder #2 instead. With this constitution, the central cylinder #2 is cooled by the cooling water passage in a clearance with the adjacent cylinder, while a cylinder block 1 and a crankshaft 4 are shortened, thus miniaturization and lightweightiness are well promotable. |
