PURPOSE:To use a high-speed semiconductor memory as a file memory by providing a circuit which receives a direct memory access transfer authorized signal and generates a clock, and performing direct data transfer between the semiconductor memory and a bus. CONSTITUTION:A dedicated semiconductor file memory controller 100 is provided and controls the data transfer of the semiconductor memory. Then when the transfer ready signal is sent from a DMAC (direct memory access controller) 300 so as to utilize DMA (direct memory access), the clock for the data transfer is generated. Consequently, much faster data transfer is realized as compared with a system wherein a CPU controls data control through software and no CPU needs to be interposed throughout the data transfer, so the load on the CPU is reduced. Consequently, a conventional DMAC is used as it is to use the high-speed semiconductor memory where data are read and written successively as the file memory. |
