PURPOSE:To prevent a tape from being damaged by providing an intermittent driving mechanism driving a reel base in following to the falling operation of a cassette at cassette loading so as to always give a constant tension to the tape. CONSTITUTION:A reel hub 5 is driven clockwise together with a reel base 1 via a clutch mechanism by the prescribed amount of driving of a clutch gear 2 and proper tension is given to the tape wound on the reel hub 5 to prevent the slack of the tape. For example, even if the cassette is fallen down just before cassette loading state and extracted in error, the tape in the cassette is took up surely and a proper tension is given. Since the intermittent feed mechanism driving a clutch gear 2 given to the reel base 1 at the falling of the cassette is provided in this way, the reel hub 5 meshes surely with the reel base 1 at cassette falling and the proper tension is given to the tape at all times at cassette falling so as to prevent the damages of the tape.
