PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a control memory and also to increase a range for transformation into firmware by setting the firmware having small using frequency to a main memory and reading out the firmware to a control memory was necessary with no intervention of an additional circuit. CONSTITUTION:The microprogram to be stored in a control memory 12 is read out to a microinstruction register with the addresses designated successively by a microsequencer 11 and the executed by an arithmetic control circuit 14. Then the firmware is set in a specific area of a main memory 161. A specific area address where the firmware stored in the memory 161 is set to a general register GR1 together with an address of the memory 12 for the firmware to be loaded set to a general register GR2, and the number of words of the firmware to be loaded set to a general register GR3 respectively. Then a firmware loading instruction is carried out via a microinstruction register 13. Thus the firmware to be stored in the memory 161 is successively transferred and stored into the memory 12.
