MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium having high durability and wear resistance by providing a magnetic layer contg. magnetic particles and binder on a nonmagnetic substrate and providing a top coating film formed of 1 or >=2 layers of Langmuir-Blodgett films contg. carboxyperfluoropolyether or the salt thereof on said layer. CONSTITUTION:This magnetic recording medium 1 has the magnetic layer 3 on the nonmagnetic substrate 2 and the top coating film 4 on the magnetic layer 3. This top coating film 4 is 1 or >=2 layers of monomolecular films contg. the carboxyperfluoropolyether or the salt thereof and is formed by a Langmuir- Blodgett's technique. The perfluoropolyether is generally a perfluoro substance of polyalkyl ether and the carboxylic acid group or the salt thereof at said perfluoropolyether is substd. and the number of the carboxylic group is preferably 1-2.
