PURPOSE:To satisfactorily execute chucking by releasing to adsorption of a recording and reproducing head and a disk without prolonging an access time, by turning a spindle motor by a prescribed quantity in a reverse direction, when driving is ended. CONSTITUTION:A direct drive motor driving control circuit 7 is controlled by a floppy disk driving control circuit 5, a spindle motor 1 is turned by a prescribed quantity in the reverse direction, when driving is ended and the chucking of a magnetic disk by the drive pinch of the spindle motor is detached. Accordingly, when a magnetic disk is started in the next time, the motor 1 is not rotated backward out rotated forward, and through the motor 1 energized in the vicinity of a steady state rotation, the adsorption of a recording and reproducing head and a disk is released without prolonging an access time, and chucking is executed satisfactorily and exactly.
