PURPOSE:To normally move a magnetic head by moving a head in the inside peripheral direction until it passes out of a track zero area, in case the head is in the zero area when a power source is turned on, and inhibiting a start of a spindle motor in its period. CONSTITUTION:In case a track zero detector 12 is ON, an output Q of an inside periphery moving command circuit 11 becomes L, and a rotation inhibiting circuit 14 does not transfer a motor-on signal Mon to a spindle motor circuit 15. Also, the output Q of L outputs an inside peripheral direction signal (a) from a moving direction setting circuit 17, and also, outputs a pulse (b) from a generating circuit 18. As a result, a driving circuit 20 drives a step-motor 21, and a magnetic head moves in the inside peripheral direction. When the head passes out of a track zero area, the signal Q becomes H, the motor 21 stops, and also, the circuit 14 transfers the signal Mon to the circuit 15, and a spindle motor is started.
