PURPOSE:To improve the contrast and sensitivity of the titled material by providing at least one layer of a hydrophilic colloidal layer contg. silver halide on a substrate body, and by incorporating a specific tetrazolium compd. and an alkali metal salt to at least one layer of the hydrophilic colloidal layer provided on the substrate body. CONSTITUTION:At least one layer of the photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer is provided on the one surface of the substrate body. The silver halide contd. in at least one layer of the silver halide emulsion layer contains at least >=60mol% silver chloride. At least one layer of the silver halide emulsion layer contains at least one of the compd. selected from a compd. shown by formula I and a compd. shown by formula II. Thus, the titled material having high sensitivity and high contrast and good preservability, and especially, suitable for a printing plate making is obtd. by processing it with a developer having good preservative property. |
