PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance by raising the hardness of a gap part, and also, to reduce the cost by using a nonmagnetic material which has been brought to nitriding, as a spacer for forming a magnetic gap part. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic core 1 is formed by butting and joining a pair of magnetic core half bodies 1a, 1b consisting of, for instance 'Sendust(R)', through a gap spacer 2 consisting of a titanium foil for forming a magnetic gap. Also, a magnetic head 9 is formed by fitting the magnetic core 1 to which a coil bobbin 3 has been fitted, into a shielding case 6, allowing the tip face of the magnetic core 1 to face an opening part 6a, filling the inside of the shielding case 6 with a fixing material 8, and fixing the magnetic core by a method such as hardening said material, etc. As for the gap spacer 2, in order to improve the wear resistance, the titanium foil which has been brought to nitriding as a processing for raising the hardness is used, therefore, the wear resistance of the magnetic gap part can be raised.
