PURPOSE:To improve the printing quality, by detecting the number of printing elements which have driven immediately before printing and correcting the timing of print trigger being applied onto an electromagnet the detected result. CONSTITUTION:Print data signals O1-O12, E1-E12 are fed every time when a print head is moved by a predetermined pitch and sent respectively to drive magnet quantity detection circuits 1, 2. The detection circuit 1 counts such signals as indicating logic '1' in the print data signals O1-O12 and produces any one of drive quantity signals OS1-OS3. Detection circuit 2 counts such signals as indicating logic '1' in the print data signals E1-E12 and produces any one of drive quantity signals ES1-ES3. Values for OS1-OS3 and ES1-ES3 have been prepared before they are inputted to register 3, 4 and loaded to counters 5, 6 and loaded every time when a trigger is outputted so as to operate the counter and output a correct print timing trigger. Consequently, magnetic interference due to preceding print can be reduced, resulting in the improvement of printing quality.
