PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a flaw at the time of carrying out a thin plate material by providing a robot movably along a guide rail so as to load said thin plate material into a conveying device while changing its posture from a horizontal posture in its loading position to a vertical posture through an inclined posture. CONSTITUTION:When a conveying device 42 is on standby in a position corresponding to a loading position, a robot 3 is moved to the conveying device 42 side along a guide rail 28 while operating a finger 32 and a revolving arm 31. And, a thin plate material 2 which is placed in the loading position is held by the finger 32 with its posture being gradually changed from a horizontal posture to a vertical posture through an inclined posture, and inserted into the conveying device 42 without being brought into contact with upper and lower hair like projections 48, 51. And, in a condition being supported by the hair like projections 48, 51 in the final vertical posture, the holding condition of the finger 32 is removed. Thereby, the thin plate materials 2 can be loaded into the conveying device 42 in a vertical posture while avoiding mutual contact, preventing damage.
